Day 8: Weaving Cooperative

There are 26 mothers involved in their weaving cooperative. Each mother works out of their own home and sells their work at the cooperative. They dye white cotton first in banana peels for preprocessing, and then using natural colors from plants, foods, or insects/bugs to create the many different colors. After dying, the threads are "cooked" by a fire to further set the color. 20lbs of thread takes 45 minutes to complete per color.
