Day 1: Arriving in Guatemala City

We arrived in Guatemala city as planned, and after much confusion over forms, we were swept through customs quickly without anyone reading the forms. Outside the airport terminal we got our first taste of the local culture, as our luggage was lashed to the top of the two vans taking us to Pana. We learned quickly the answer to the question "how many can you fit in a van?". The answer: "one more"
