Work Day 1: Updating a Basketball Court

Today we began reconstructing a basketball court in the village of Paninatzalam. Tom told us the court was 20 years old and need of major updating. We began the afternoon by leveling the ground, and installing metal braces to form the rows to create the squares. Everyone had a chance to try something new whether it was leveling the ground, installing metal braces, cutting rebar, drilling holes, mixing concrete, sifting sand, pouring concrete, leveling concrete, and/or roughing the concrete surface.
