Day 2: Chichicastenango

Today we started off by going to Chichicastenango or "chi-chi" to the locals. We had a wonderful lunch at a fancy restaurant, and a few of us sampled some local beer. Moza was a pretty faithful interpretation of German bock style.

After lunch we hit the market. It is supposedly world famous and for good reason. The sellers are very persuasive. Tom gave us some tips on how to say no. We quickly learned
how to bargain. Taryn and I picked up some large hand made blankets, and a hand painted serving dish. The U.S. dollar has a lot of spending power here, and the locals are at home in either currency.
